Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Technical Manager to join our team, based in Doha, Qatar.

 

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Leading technical advisor for the procurement of a PPP delivery partner.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all projects’ technical and engineering activities to ensure tha targets are being met and progress is being delivered.
  • Leading the technical due diligence, preparation of technical specifications, service levels, whole life cost assessment, and technical elements of the tender documents.
  • Identifying technical challenges of implementation and expected project outcomes and impacts.
  • Managing, reviewing, and engaging with the transaction advisor and all relevant stakeholders on the technical aspects of the PPP project documents during the project’s development and procurement.
  • Leading the technical bid evaluation and participate in contract negotiation with the preferred bidder.
  • Leading technical risk analysis and mitigation and assess health and safety issues.
  • Identifying any need for the following: geological, geotechnical, hydrological, seismic, air pollution, waste disposal, archaeological and heritage analysis, environmental and social impact assessments.
  • Engaging with project owners on the technical requirements/matters related to the PPP projects and engage with other stakeholders on technical and market-related matters as necessary.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include minimum 20 years’ experience including 10 years of experience in transaction advisory and PPPs, minimum 10 years of relevant experience with similar role, partnered with Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.

 

Furthermore, you should demonstrate:

  • Track record in the management and delivery of large PPP projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilised on the PPP project.
  • In-depth understanding of PPP development and procurement procedures, design management, tender preparation, independent certification engineer services, design review, risk register, tender evaluation, contract negotiation and handover.
  • Must have excellent skills in preparing reports, drafting letters, and making presentations to senior management and senior representatives of stakeholder organisations.
  • Highly desirable to have Arabic language skills.
