Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Materials Engineer to join our team based in Kuwait for one of the housing projects. 
This project involves construction of 1,777 houses, along with service buildings, substations, mosques etc.

The Materials Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials quality control and testing on the project. This includes ensuring that all construction materials used meet the specified quality standards and project requirements.

 

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to address material-related challenges and provide technical support.
  • Develop and implement materials testing and inspection procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials at the site.
  • Perform or oversee the testing of materials in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records of all materials testing and inspection results.
  • Review and approve material submittals from suppliers.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors on material quality issues.
  • Investigate and resolve any material-related non-conformances.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of materials to the site.
  • Monitor and document the use of materials on site.
  • Prepare and submit material test reports and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant material specifications and quality standards.
  • Advise the project team on material selection and procurement.
  • Promote the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials.
  • Ensure the safe handling and storage of materials on site.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. 

 

Proven experience in the successful execution of large-scale residential construction projects is a mandatory requirement.
Preference will be given to candidates who are currently residing in Kuwait.
