Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Civil Inspector (GCC National) to join our award winning team in Jeddah, Saudi. This critical role will be responsible for undertaking inspections on site in accordance with the civil related Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's)

 

  • Conducting routine and detailed inspections of road construction and repair sites to monitor progress and verify that work complies with approved plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and techniques meet project quality standards and adhere to design specifications, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Inspecting and verify the quality, quantity, and proper storage of materials used in road construction, including asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitoring the construction process for compliance with project timelines, ensuring that the work is progressing as planned and identifying potential delays or issues early on.
  • Identifying and document any deviations from approved plans, design changes, or quality issues during inspections, and report these findings to project managers or engineers. Recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Overseeing or perform field tests of construction materials and road surfaces, such as soil compaction, concrete strength, or asphalt temperature, to verify they meet the specified standards.
  • Maintaining detailed inspection logs, records of non-compliance, and documentation of materials used. Prepare regular inspection reports for the project manager, contractor, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that all road construction activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, and monitor for hazards on-site, including traffic safety and worker protection.
  • Verifying that the road construction or maintenance activities adhere to local, state, and national regulations, including environmental, traffic control, and safety standards.
  • Supervising and ensure proper traffic management during roadworks, including the installation of signage, barriers, and detours to minimize disruptions to drivers and pedestrians.
  • Coordinating with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss inspection findings, address issues, and ensure that corrective actions are taken to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Conducting final inspections after project completion to verify that all work has been carried out according to specifications and that the road meets safety, quality, and performance standards before handover.

 

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 5 years work experience partnered with a  Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
