Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Technical Writer (Railway), seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.

 

You will be responsible to create and maintain high-quality documentation for the SDD Operation and Maintenance Department. You will collect, organize and categorize lessons learnt from SDD and other stakeholders and translate complex technical information into clear, accurate, and comprehensive O&M Employers requirements and related SDD Documentation. 

 

We envisage success in this role to include; 

  • Gathering information and planning the revision of technical documentation from relevant stakeholders. 
  • Specifying, developing, and implementing the content in the Employers Requirements. 
  • Ensuring all documentation is clear, concise, and tailored to the needs of stakeholders. 
  • Organizing workshops with relevant stakeholders to collect, and categorize lessons learnt and implementing relevant technical changes to the ERs. 
  • Regularly updating and managing changes to current Employers Requirements (ER) and performance regimes to reflect the latest standards and practices. 
  • Tracking and documenting changes to ERs throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Ensure al changes are accurately reflected in the documentation and communicated to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Ensuring documentation reflects current industry standards and innovation. 
  • Working closely with subject matter experts to gather information and understand the technical aspects of railway maintenance. 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and customer support, to ensure accurate and up to date documentation.  
  • Organizing and managing documentation repositories, ensuring all documents are version-controlled and easily accessible. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation standards and templates to ensure consistency across all documentation. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include minimum 15+ years in the rail industry, with a focus on metro and tram systems, partnered with Master’s or Bachelor’s degree Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 

  • Strong background in technical writing with excellent communications skills. Preferably in the railways industry.
  • Proven track record on Facilities Management for railways industry.
  • Knowledge on maintenance, construction, and design for metro systems
  • In-depth knowledge of rail safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Experience with rail-specific technologies, including rolling stock, signaling and communication systems.
