Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Project Manager in Lisbon, Portugal

 

The focus of this role is to oversee projects, ensuring they meet all scope, time-line, and budget requirements. You will be comfortable managing multiple projects. Experience within the Rail sector in Europe will be an advantage as well as experience in developing business for the division.

 

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Providing key technical expertise and input at different stages of multiple projects to ensure the highest technical quality of delivery within specific discipline.
  • Partnering with Project Managers/Project Directors, for business development, quality management and the technical development of key talent within the relevant discipline within the Infrastructure Branch/Region.
  • Assisting in Business Development activities for the Infrastructure Department.
  • Leading and developing strong communication and working relationships with staff, management, subcontractors, public agencies, and clients which support collaborative work practices.
  • Managing internal multi-discipline design teams working on infrastructure projects to ensure cost effective, quality, and timely input.
  • Providing formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.
  • Planning and monitoring appropriate staffing levels and utilisation of labour.
  • Preparing and delivering performance appraisal for staff.
  • Mentoring and coaching team members to further develop competencies.
  • Managing external consultants to ensure cost effective, quality, and timely input.
  • Preparing design programs based on detailed work breakdown quality structures for projects.
  • Preparing cost and time-based progress reports for design projects.
  • Preparing and presenting project reports and presentations for internal and external clients.
  • Preparing technical proposals for submission to external parties.
  • Preparing cost estimates for infrastructure design projects.
  • Ensuring the effective functioning of large/complex and/or multidisciplinary teams by using appropriate interpersonal styles to promote team cohesion and collaboration.
  • Ensuring integration of sustainability principles in all inputs and outputs of teams within area of responsibility.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include at-least 10 years’ experience in a consultancy environment, of which at least 4 years were spent working on projects within the Rail sector, partnered with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

 

You will be able to communicate in Portuguese at a native level.

 

The successful candidate will have spent the majority of their career within the consultancy sector where major scale infrastructure projects were handled primarily in the design phases. Candidates that demonstrate expertise in the Rail sector will be viewed favourably.

 

Strong project management skills will be sought as the role requires extensive understanding of the financial element of projects. You will have been involved in consultancy works with deliverables that are used by various government bodies and national level clients that allow them to move ahead with their infrastructure plans.
