Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Jeddah, KSA.

 

This position will be responsible for managing and analyzing spatial data related to the cleaning projects in Jeddah Governorate. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that accurate geospatial data is used to support decision-making processes for project planning, monitoring, and improvement.

 

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in mapping and visualizing cleaning routes, waste management systems, and environmental assessments.

 

We envisage success in this role to include:

  • Developing and maintaining GIS databases to track and visualize the geographic aspects of cleaning projects.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data to support project management and performance evaluations.
  • Creating detailed maps, models, and reports that support the monitoring of cleaning activities and infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with project teams to identify areas of concern, optimize routes, and improve waste collection efficiency.
  • Conducting field surveys and gathering geographic data using GPS and other tools.
  • Ensuring the integration of GIS data with other project management systems to provide comprehensive insights.
  • Providing regular updates on project progress through geospatial data analysis and visualizations.
  • Assisting in environmental impact assessments by providing GIS analysis of project sites and affected areas

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 3+ years of experience in GIS engineering, spatial analysis, or similar roles, preferably in public infrastructure or environmental services partnered with Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Environmental Science, or a related field.

 

Furthermore, you should demonstrate: 

  • Strong proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with GPS tools, spatial data management, and geospatial databases.
  • Experience in developing spatial models for optimizing waste collection or similar logistics processes.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and waste management standards in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
