Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Mechanical and Equipment Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Jeddah, KSA.

 

This position will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment used in cleaning and waste management projects in Jeddah Governorate. This role involves ensuring that all equipment is operating efficiently, coordinating maintenance schedules, and implementing strategies to extend the lifespan of the machinery.

 

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment reliability and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

 

We envisage success in this role to include:

  • Managing and maintaining all mechanical systems and equipment used in cleaning and waste management projects.
  • Conducting regular inspections and performance assessments of equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Ensuring that all mechanical equipment complies with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborating with contractors and project teams to resolve mechanical issues and improve equipment performance.
  • Preparing detailed reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and repair needs.
  • Providing recommendations for equipment upgrades, replacements, or modifications to enhance project efficiency.
  • Staying up-to-date with advancements in mechanical engineering and equipment technologies relevant to waste management.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in public infrastructure or environmental services, partnered with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

 

Furthermore, you should demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repair practices.
  • Experience in developing and managing equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to mechanical equipment in public infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Experience in integrating renewable energy systems (e.g., solar, wind) into public infrastructure projects.
  • Certification in equipment maintenance or mechanical engineering (e.g., CMRP, PE) is an advantage.
