Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Structural Engineer to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. 

 

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Review of complete structural design submission by tenants and contractor for Industries, Warehouse, Buildings, Infrastructure works and verify the accuracy of Design drawings, Shop drawings and their compliance to the specifications and local authority standards.
  • Conduct site inspection to endure adherence to Structural standards and General Engineering practices and advise on technical issues and verify that the final as-built construction complies meet structural specifications.
  • Should have successfully completed structural projects before in Abu Dhabi.
  • Knowledge of structural review processes.
  • Familiar with ADM procedure, other stake holders and local authorities rules and regulations in Abu Dhabi
  • Should be aware of ADM documents review process and ADM software used for issuing Building Permit and Building Completion Certificate
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Identify, manage and control all third-party interfaces.
  • Liaise with group leader and prepare monthly progress report for each tenant submission.
  • Outstanding ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Shall review the design, specifications, design report and all calculations submitted with the original permit application, and all subsequent revisions thereto.
  • Shall review the submitted design for compliance with the structural and foundation design provisions of the Abu Dhabi international Building Code (ADIBC) and all related structural codes and technical standards, and Abu Dhabi Municipality regulations.
  • Review geotechnical and other engineering investigations that are related to the foundation and structural design and confirm that the design properly incorporates the results and recommendations of the investigations.
  • Confirm that other structural design criteria and design assumptions conform to the applicable codes and are in accordance with generally accepted engineering practice and confirm that the design loads conform to the applicable codes.
  • Verify that performance-specified structural components (such as Steel structure, certain precast concrete elements) have been appropriately specified and coordinated with the Primary Building Structure.
  • Reviewing the design calculations and all submitted models (ETABS, SAFE and STAAD) and confirm that all the structure analysis and calculations are safe and matching to the design drawings and ADIBC requirements.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
