Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Freight Expert, seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.

 

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Supporting the Railway Business Expert and the Stakeholder Manager for Freight Business Activities in the development of the rail freight business plan for the GCC Railway. 
  • Supporting the Stakeholder Manager for Freight Business Activities in discussions with potential future clients.  
  • Providing expertise in the field of rail freight handling facilities to all levels.  
  • Developing  concepts  for  freight  handling  facilities  including  dimensioning  and  high-level  employer requirements.  
  • Collaborating with potential future clients in the development of above concepts and consider client requirements.  
  • Coordinating with security and other relevant government entities. 
  • Supporting  preparation  of  tender  documents  or  any  other  documents  required  in  the  procurement process.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include minimum 10+ years within international transport and logistics holdings providing railway services as a core business. Development of policy and strategy documents, business plans for state-owned railway enterprises with focus on freight and logistics. Transport & Logistics Centers Design, Design of Intermodal Terminals and other freight facilities, partnered with Master or Bachelor in Industrial Engineering, in Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Transport: Combined Transport (Rail+Road) – processes, rolling stock, equipment.
  • Logistics: Transport and Logistics Centers design, Design of Intermodal Terminals incl. dimensioning, economic modelling, business model design.
  • Knowledge of cross border security, immigration, and regulatory processes.
  • Knowledge and experience with Arabian Gulf Stakeholder engagement.
  • Ideally previously working in freight related projects in Qatar and/ or the GCC.
  • Excellent skills MS Office.
